Laser treatment
Over the years, our teeth tend to yellow. However, this natural process can be easily reversed. Our clinic uses a unique laser system that removes stains by destroying the accumulated pigment molecules. The result will be a beautiful white smile that lasts for years. The treatment is usually painless, takes only an hour and a half to perform, and is also suitable for those with sensitive teeth.
How the laser works
In preparation for the treatment, the teeth are polished and the gums temporarily sealed off with a layer of plastic. The laser beam then breaks up the accumulated pigment molecules so that they can be easily removed with a special cleansing gel. The enamel - vital to the natural protection of your teeth - remains intact.
Once at home, you will then apply a maintenance gel for a period of ten days. It is also important to refrain from coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco for the first four days after the treatment. The result? A shining smile that lasts for years!
Naturally we also offer conventional whitening treatments, such as polishing and salt blasting. After a thorough treatment, our dental hygienist will then provide you with a special maintenance kit so that you can keep your newly whitened teeth beautiful at home.
Our laser system has also proven to be highly effective in the treatment of children. A combination of laser and fluoride therapy allows us to minimise the risks of future tooth decay. This effective preventative treatment is a great way to ensure your child has the best possible chance of maintaining a beautiful, healthy set of teeth in later life.
